Founder / Board President - Alysa Marx
Alysa Marx has dedicated over two decades to serving the refugee community in Dallas. Her work began through volunteer engagement with multiple organizations addressing resettled families' complex and interrelated needs—including education, housing, and social services. These experiences have given her a comprehensive understanding of refugee populations' systemic challenges and the critical support required to help them thrive.
Alysa's deep commitment to relationship-building has distinguished her approach. By working directly with families in their neighborhoods and investing time in understanding their stories, languages, and cultural contexts, she has developed a uniquely informed perspective on serving with compassion and effectiveness.
Drawing on her years of grassroots experience, program development, and cross-sector collaboration, Alysa founded The Reading Circle to provide refugee students with access to high-quality, culturally responsive literacy education. Her leadership reflects a strong blend of entrepreneurial skill, strategic insight, and a heart for Gospel-centered transformation.
Through her continued efforts, Alysa remains committed to equipping students with the tools they need for academic success while fostering hope, dignity, and long-term opportunity through the love of Christ.
