A few weeks ago, our sweet preschool scholars and some of their mamas got to do something extra special — a field trip to Play Street Museum for their end-of-year celebration! πŸŽ‰β

That's the word Eve chose to describe her student Miriam* after a full year together — and it says everything. In Eve's own words: "Miriam is thoughtful and intentional with the way she does her Before every lesson, we open with Scripture and prayer. Our students bring it all — heavy burdens, school worries, and joyful praises alike. And every time, we get to point them to the God who listens. What a gift. Memorization Monday!⁠

After time apart, walking back into Reading Circle and seeing familiar faces — and welcoming some new ones — reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

After a week off, we are so excited to welcome our students and mentors back to Reading Circle and Preschool Circle this week as we kick off our summer session together!

There is something 90 Minutes at a Time

July 2021: the summer before my freshman year of high school.

At Refugee Resources, we think often about what freedom costs — and what it means to the families we serve, who have crossed oceans, fled violence, and arrived her Eleven years ago, a little girl walked into Refugee Resources and learned her ABCs.

Today, Juliana is walking across the stage — not once, but twice.

Over the past two nights, Chick-fil-A served over 100 of our students and mentors as we combined our end-of-year celebration with our spirit “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
